The Impact of SOSA on Military ComputingThursday, November 18, 2021 at 12:00 pm U.S. ESTThe Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA) is a relatively new standard being driven by the Air Force, Army, Navy, and various government agencies to develop a unified, technical, open systems architecture standard for complex systems such as radar, EO/IR, SIGINT, electronic warfare, and communications. SOSA has gained incredible traction in just a couple of years, with many defense contractors having already demonstrated working hardware and software. This 60-minute Webinar from the editors of Aerospace & Defense Technology highlights some of the most recent technical advances driving SOSA forward. An audience Q&A follows the technical presentation. Speakers:Rodger Hosking, Vice President and Co-Founder, PentekRodger H. Hosking is Vice President and co-founder of Pentek, now part of Mercury, where he is responsible for new product definition, technology development, and strategic alliances. With more than 30 years in the electronics industry, Rodger has authored hundreds of articles about software radio and digital signal processing. He also holds patents in frequency synthesis and spectrum analysis techniques. Prior to his current position, he served as Engineering Manager at Wavetek/Rockland. He holds a BS degree in physics from Allegheny College in Pennsylvania and BSEE and MSEE degrees from Columbia University in New York. Mark Littlefield, Senior Manager, Embedded Computing Products & Systems, Elma Electronic Mark Littlefield is Senior Manager for embedded computing products and services for Elma Electronic. He has more than 25 years of experience in embedded computing, where he has held a range of technical and professional roles supporting defense, medical, and commercial applications. Mark holds bachelor's and master’s degrees in control systems engineering from the University of West Florida, where he wrote his thesis on a neural net approach to image processing.
